How Hair Analysis is Conducted?
INSTRUCTION TO COLLECT HAIR SAMPLE
The accuracy and reliability of the test results and interpretation is based upon receipt of a properly collected hair sample that is clean and free from external contaminants.
I Have Bleached/dyed/permed hair. Will this affect the results?
Some labs recommend that the hair will not be accepted if it has been treated, but we have found that it does not influence the test so much that you need to wait for weeks for months before getting your hair tested. You should wash it at least 4 times after your hair treatment. The hair sampling instructions you will receive will also contain other factors that may influence the results, and what to do about them, including the use of certain shampoos and water softeners.
Additionally, the hair should be washed within 48 hours. This means your hair can be washed on the same day or a day or two before sampling your hair.
Wash the hair with a plain shampoo, and then let it dry for at least 4 hours. Use a plain, simple shampoo, if possible. If possible, do not add conditioners and other products to the hair after washing it on the day you will take the sample.
There are several cautions and concerns regarding hair products. Most shampoos and conditioners do not contain metals and will not affect the accuracy of the analysis. However medicated shampoos of concern are:
Just about a tablespoon or so, which can be sampled in small areas from the back of the head and will not interfere with anyone’s hairdos. After you have ordered your hair test, you will be sent specific instructions as to how to properly take a hair sample, and other variables that will influence the accuracy of the test.
How Close should the Hair Sample Be Cut To The Scalp?
Note: For short hair, use the entire sample. For longer hair, the distal end of the hair longer than 1.5 inches should be cut off and discarded—use only the root end of the hair sample.
Where do I place the Hair Sample?
It is very important to place the hair sample in the sampling envelope provided before sending to the laboratory. Do not place hair samples in plastic baggies or aluminum foil. Do not staple the hair sample to the scale or sampling envelope.
Do not mix different types of hair such as head hair with pubic hair or beard hair and place in the sample envelope. It is strongly recommended to use head hair only due to its consistent rate of growth. Pubic and other body hair should be used only if sufficient head hair is not available.
What Laboratory Do You Use?
I use Analytical Research Labs as I consider them to be the best because they do not wash the hair prior to analysis. Washing the hair removes more of the water-soluble minerals, and can skew the results. I am designing nutritional balancing programs based on these results, and I absolutely need everything to be as precise as possible. According to Dr. Wilson, they have the strictest quality-control standards. They are the only lab that even has the optimum or ideal level of a mineral listed on their forms. They have also been in business for a long time, and was founded by the pioneer of hair mineral analysis and nutritional balancing science, Dr. Paul Eck.
How do I pay?
After your paypal payment, of which we will send you an invoice, we will email you the lab kit that you need to mail your hair sample to the lab. Mailing instructions will also be included. You need to send your hair sample and lab forms together to the lab. We will contact you with your hair test results in approximately in three weeks.
I Would Like to Know More About Hair Mineral Analysis?
Feel free to read through an extensive list of articles about HTMA written by Dr. Lawrence Wilson. He has over 30 years of experience and has personally interpreted over 45,000 hair tests. He is the most knowledgeable person on earth about it, having learned directly from the pioneer of HTMA and nutritional balancing, Dr. Paul Eck, and has gone on to make quite a few very important discoveries about the interpretation of hair mineral results, as well as how to integrate other detoxification techniques safely and successfully to make for the very powerful and effective healing program utilized all over the world.
