ALMOND BUTTER RECIPE

Ingredients:

✔ 1 cup of almonds

✔ 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional) 

✔ ​1 pinch of sea salt 

Method: 

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF and spread out the almonds in a large baking sheet.

2. Roast the almonds for 10 to 15 minutes, moving them around the baking sheet. The almonds should look golden brown when ready.

3. Place the almonds in a blender (vitamix) or food processor and blend.

​4. After a few minutes of blending, add the optional coconut oil and salt.

5. Scrape the sides of the blender as needed.

6. Continue blending until you get your desired consistency or until it becomes creamy. This could take about 15 to 25 minutes, depending on your equipment. 

7. Store in a glass container in the fridge for up to three weeks. 



How much to eat.  Eat between 1 and 2 tablespoons daily.  

Do not eat more because almond butter is a somewhat yin food.  Almonds are nuts, and all nuts are somewhat yin.


Why roast it?  Toasting or roasting the almonds makes almond butter more yang, which is helpful, even though it may damage some of the nutrients in the almond butter.  Do not eat raw almonds or raw almond butter.

How to eat almond butter.  The simplest way is to put some on a spoon and eat it plain.  However, if you prefer, spread it over your cooked vegetables and use it as a topping.  Ideally, do not dilute it with water or anything else.  Also, it is best to eat protein before you eat other foods, so eat your almond butter first and then eat your other foods.

Must the nuts be organically grown?  No.  this is not necessary to obtain most of the benefits, although organically grown is better.

Cost.  If cost is a concern, you do not need to buy organic almond.  The regular type will work.  Some stores make it fresh, and this is usually the freshest and the least expensive way to buy it.

Freshness.  When you buy almond butter, ideally check the expiration date on the jar.  Fresher is best, if you have a choice.  You cannot judge just by whether there is some oil floating on top of the almond butter.  This is normal if the jar is over one month old or older.

Handling almond butter.  Always store almond butter in the refrigerator to keep it fresh longer.

Please note that there is only one nutritional balancing science, developed by Dr. Paul Eck. All other claims made by other practitioners, not approved by Dr. Lawrence Wilson on his site, have altered Dr. Eck's principles and as such have no in depth understanding of the science, which is very unfortunate.  

Further, altering even one aspect of a nutritional balancing program often ruins it rather completely.  This could be substituting different products that you like better, skipping an aspect of the diet or the supplements, or implementing other diets, such as GAPS OR PALEO, OR something else that people do all the time, such for example using other forms of meditation, other than what is recommended by Dr. Wilson.  In other words, using other products or diets, or meditation, conflicts with the entire program and it seriously reduces its effectiveness. Thus, nutritional balancing science is completely integrated, meaning that the sciences are used together in very unique way and should not be altered by yourself or other practitioners.
