For example, I would categorize the recent news, from the World Health Organization (WHO), pretty much close to the truth, since according to their report, it states that just 50g of processed meat a day (less than 2 slices of bacon) increased the chance of getting colorectal cancer by 18%. Processed meats were places in the “Group 1” list, alongside asbestos and tobacco products.
The report also stated that red meats in general were “probably carcinogenic,” while at the same time stressing that meat also has some health benefits (which, Dr. Wilson advises us to eat red meat, preferably lamb, only twice a week, because too much of it, as prescribed in the Paleo diet, for example, can often lead to cancer eventually.)
WHO's evidence review is explained in an article published in The Lancet and you can read more here.
Myself, I have stayed away from pork, for some years, in part due to too many family members, uncles, ants, cousins, dying from colon cancer or else having colon cancer. I know that pork is a very tasty food, but is it really worth eating a food that is not healthy and carries a worm that affects also the brain? read more here
