Health Foods That Are Not So Healthy

Unfortunately, many foods that are called “healthy” today are not so healthy, in my experience.  These foods include ones that are not well-absorbed, somewhat toxic, or perhaps yin in Chinese medical terminology, or that somehow upset the digestion.   Among them are:

Raw vegetables are thought to be excellent foods but if you are yang deficient, as most people are today, you will not benefit from a raw food diet because it will make your body colder when you you need a diet to warm you up.  Following are the problems with a raw food diet, for which reason I suggest cooking your vegetables:

1. Raw is too cold for the body - Making the Body Warm Deficient. This means food that are not cooked, are cold and too cold for the gut.
A body warm-deficient body is one that is cold and is lethargic, and lacks motivation. Even the mental processes is sluggish. 

2. The Minerals and Some Other Phyto-Chemicals Found In All Vegetables Are Not As Well Absorbed When The Vegetables Are Eaten Raw. Humans lack the digestive enzymes to break down the tough vegetable fibers. Taking a digestive enzyme does not usually solve the problem, in fact in makes the body colder.

Thus, vegetables are best eaten cooked until they are soft, or semi-soft, in order to absorb many of the wonderful minerals and other nutrients they contain.  (Eating green lettuce during the hot summer months is okay provided you make sure to eat the salad with cooked vegetables - but don't eat salads in winter.)


3. Other reasons to cook vegetables are to concentrate them so you can eat more of them, and in places like restaurants and some nations, cooking is very helpful to destroy parasite eggs, bacteria and other harmful items that live on them.

Commercial, pasteurized dairy products are often not such high quality foods today. 

​Raw dairy is best, and goat is best for digestion. Other decent organic product is okay, though raw is better.


Fruits

Fruits today have many problems. 

Most are too cold for the body. The mineral balance of most fruit is not good today. 

Also, fruit is often sprayed, even if it is labeled organic, as fruit is very prone to insect infestation. 

​Most fruits are hybrids, today, and not nearly as mineral-rich as some older varieties that are hard to find. 

​The water and sugar in fruit, along with fruit acids, disturb digestion, and they upset the entire body.  Sadly, fruit, as a category of food, is one of the most ruinous foods today, even organically grown or home grown fruit.


All Wheat Products

Wheat in all forms, even organic whole wheat, along with spelt, is quite irritating to the digestive system because wheat is severely hybridized and is no longer a good food as it used to be.  

The hybrids produce many more tons of wheat per acre, but the mineral and protein content is much lower and the glutamic acid content is higher, making this an irritating food. 

Some effort is being made to change this, but it is not too far along. 

​Until wheat can be returned to a more healthful and less hydridized crop, I suggest avoiding ALL wheat and spelt products.

These are highly recommended by many health authorities for their probiotic quality and other reasons.

Green "Super-food" Powder

These are also heavily promoted as health-giving “superfoods”.  However, they are often rancid, which is toxic, and they must be put into smoothies or drinks, which upsets digestion badly (see below).

Instead, I suggest dried vegetable capsules, which don’t go rancid nearly as fast, and kelp, a wonderful sea vegetable. 

​Do not use the other sea vegetables as much such as nori, wakame, dulse and the others.  They have less alginates that trap toxic metals such as mercury in the sea vegetables and prevent its absorption. 

​Also, I suggest avoiding the algaes that are so popular - chlorella, spirulina and blue-green algae.  These seem less compatible with human physiology in some way, although a little bit is okay.


Protein Powders

I find that for most people, whole foods are best.  Problems with protein powders are:

  1. bad combinations in smoothies and drinks, and
  2. often much less nutritious than the whole food such as an egg or some raw cheese.
For protein, have 2 or 3 soft-cooked eggs, or a little chicken, turkey, lamb, beef or lentils.  However, limit beans to about two servings per week in most instances and make sure the beef you purchase is grass fed and organic, without antibiotics.

Smoothie & Shakes

This is difficult for many people to imagine, but smoothies are not recommended at all.  They are all too yin because they are made of powders that are broken apart (very yin).  Then one adds water or worse, something sweet, which is also very yin (cold). 

In addition, they are usually difficult food combinations for the body to digest.  Also, drinking a lot of liquid when you take your food interferes with its proper digestion. 

​For all these reasons, smoothies actually damage the digestion.  At best, they do not heal the digestive tract, which is a primary aspect of health that everyone needs today.  In most cases, they make it much worse, no matter how “nourishing” they may be.

If the idea of having a smoothie with a straw appeals to your senses, I suggest you make a a thick soup of cook vegetables and add some sea salt and some fat to it.  Many clients report that eating their vegetables this way makes it easier. 


Pork Products

Unless you know the farmer, eating pork is a risky proposition.  It may contain trichina worm eggs or ova that are not destroyed by cooking, and for other reasons that are less clean. You can read more HERE

More Habits to Curb/
Foods to Avoid and Program to Ditch


  1. Do not combine heavy starch and heavy protein, ideally, as this is also harder to digest.
2. Drinking with meals.

3. Tons of supplements, not designed for your oxidation type.

4. Kombucha, gramma and rooibos tea.

5. Wine or any kind of alcohol beverages -- It's Junk. 

6. Chocolate of any kind.

7. Soy Products. (Good for ink only)

8. Sushi (contain parasites)

9. Salmon and Tuna (Mercury toxic)

10. Hard-boiled eggs or other hard-cooked eggs (Hard on digestion)

11. Homeopathic remedies

12. Chelation Therapy


13. Natural or bio-identical hormones

Please note that there is only one nutritional balancing science, developed by Dr. Paul Eck. All other claims made by other practitioners, not approved by Dr. Lawrence Wilson on his site, have altered Dr. Eck's principles and as such have no in depth understanding of the science, which is very unfortunate.  

Further, altering even one aspect of a nutritional balancing program often ruins it rather completely.  This could be substituting different products that you like better, skipping an aspect of the diet or the supplements, or implementing other diets, such as GAPS OR PALEO, OR something else that people do all the time, such for example using other forms of meditation, other than what is recommended by Dr. Wilson.  In other words, using other products or diets, or meditation, conflicts with the entire program and it seriously reduces its effectiveness. Thus, nutritional balancing science is completely integrated, meaning that the sciences are used together in very unique way and should not be altered by yourself or other practitioners.
