POOR ELIMINATOR or VERY POOR ELIMINATOR

A relatively new hair mineral analysis pattern is called poor eliminator pattern.  It was not part of Dr. Eck’s original work.  However, it is one of the most important hair mineral analysis patterns, in my view.

DEFINITION

This pattern is present on a hair mineral analysis in which the hair has not been washed at the laboratory when the level of the mineral is extremely low.  The exact levels to be considered a poor eliminator or a very poor eliminator for each mineral are listed below.

A very poor eliminator pattern just means that the level is even lower, and there is even more hidden accumulation of the metal present.  In theory, one could even have very, very poor eliminator patterns – meaning even lower hair mineral levels, in some cases.

The pattern applies to all of the toxic metals and to some of the nutrient minerals, as well, such as copper, iron, manganese, cobalt, molybdenum, nickel, lithium, vanadium and boron.

On any given hair test, a person can have one poor eliminator level, or very often a person has 5 or 6 of them.  When a person has about 8 or more of them, I call it an all poors pattern.

MEANING

The meaning of the pattern is that it indicates that a person is having difficulty removing the metal that is very low on the chart from the body.  As a result, the metal is building up in the body, which is a serious condition.  The pattern is a hidden toxic metal pattern, in other words.  I have found this pattern to be very accurate as an indicator that a person has too much of the mineral in the body.

The meaning of an all poors pattern is that a person is having a difficult time eliminating any toxic metal or any of the toxic forms of some nutrient minerals such as copper, iron, manganese or others.

POOR ELIMINATOR PATTERN IS THE BEST WAY TO IDENTIFY HIDDEN TOXIC METALS ON A HAIR MINERAL ANALYSIS

A valid criticism of ALL methods of assessing toxic metals and toxic levels of nutrient minerals in the body is that many are not revealed on the test.  I call these hidden toxic minerals.  These are sequestered so deeply in the organs and tissues, or bound so tightly inside enzymes, that no test – not blood, urine, feces, challenge tests, hair tests, or electronic machines – can detect them all with any degree of reliability.

The best way, so far, that I have found to identify hidden toxic minerals is via the poor eliminator pattern.  This makes this pattern one of the most important on a hair mineral analysis.

Fortunately, with nutritional balancing science, identifying which toxic minerals are present is not too important because they will all be eliminated eventually.  However, it can be helpful in some cases to figure out which toxic minerals are present.  (The program also will eliminate hundreds of toxic chemicals.)

ASSESSING THE SEVERITY OF POOR ELIMINATOR PATTERNS

Ways to do this are:

  1. Count the number of poor eliminators.  The more poor eliminators that are present on one chart, the more severe the situation.  It is possible to have 10 or more on one chart, though usually fewer are present.
  2. Count the number of VERY poor eliminators.  The more that are present, the more severe the situation.
  3. Note how low the poor and very poor eliminator mineral levels are. The lower the mineral level within the poor eliminator and very poor eliminator ranges, the more difficulty the person is usually having eliminating the toxic mineral. Said differently, the lower the numbers below the threshold level for the pattern, often the more serious the imbalance or hidden toxicity.

CAUSES FOR POOR ELIMINATOR PATTERN

These include, but are not limited to liver toxicity, kidney toxicity, Adrenal Exhaustion, Sympathetic Dominance, a very Slow Oxidation Rate, a Low Na/K Ratio, three lows or Four Lows, Victim Patterns.

The poor eliminator pattern may also be due to general nutritional depletion, Trauma, and the presence of ‘Amigos’ (toxic iron, manganese and aluminum).  Any of these can seriously impair one’s ability to eliminate toxic metals.  Often a combination of several of these causes are present, and this is often associated with multiple poor eliminator or very poor eliminator patterns.  Some of these causes are explored in more detail below.

POOR ELIMINATOR PATTERN AND ADRENAL EXHAUSTION/LOW VITALITY

Poor eliminator pattern is often associated with adrenal burnout and a very slow oxidation rate.  It makes sense that when the vitality is low, the body simply does not have enough energy to remove hidden toxic metals or biounavaiable forms of the physiological minerals.

This connection helps explain why hormone replacement therapy using products like CortefÒ, prednisone and others for adrenal insufficiency or adrenal exhaustion is not the ideal solution.  A better answer is to remove the toxic metals deeply with a nutritional balancing program.  When this is done, the adrenals begin to function normally.  However, replacing hormones does not eliminate the toxic minerals.

Nor can chelation therapy remove most of the toxic minerals, though it can help a little.

Quantifying the relationship between poor eliminator patterns and adrenal exhaustion.

Quantifying various relationship on a hair mineral analysis is a more advanced topic.  Current research indicates that every three poor eliminator indicators indicates one adrenal burnout indicator.  This number is the total of the poor and very poor eliminator patterns.

In addition, every two VERY poor eliminator patterns equals one additional adrenal burnout pattern.

POOR ELIMINATOR PATTERN AND SYMPATHETIC DOMINANCE

Often, a sympathetic dominance pattern is found along with poor eliminator patterns.  The appearance of both poor eliminator and sympathetic dominance patterns together makes perfect sense because it is known that people who overuse the sympathetic nervous system have more difficulty with the elimination of all types of toxins from the body.

This occurs because one action of the sympathetic nervous system is to shunt the blood away from the eliminative organs such as the liver and kidneys, and move it toward the muscles and brain to mount a fight-or-flight response.  When this occurs chronically, as it does in a person with a sympathetic dominance pattern, the person’s ability to eliminate all types of toxins diminishes significantly.

POOR ELIMINATOR PATTERN AND “THE AMIGOS”

Some of the poor eliminator patterns on most hair mineral charts are certain minerals that I call the ‘amigos’.  These include iron, manganese, aluminum, copper, chromium, selenium, and nickel.  It may be possible to also have poor eliminator patterns for boron, vanadium, cobalt, and molybdenum but I am not sure because it involves very low hair levels that are not commonly read by most hair mineral laboratories at this time.

The connection between the ‘amigos’ and poor eliminator pattern is common sense.  The amigos are less preferred forms of minerals that are only present in weak bodies (although they occur in nearly everyone today, including babies).  So both patterns indicate a weak body chemistry and an inability to eliminate toxins.

The solution to the amigo problem.  Most holistic doctors give anti-oxidants to counter the inflammatory effects of the amigos and other irritants in the body.  However, these chemicals - such as N-acetyl cysteine, Alpha lipoic acid, vitamin C, vitamin E, astazanthin and others – are extremely yin when used for an extended period of time.  This always upsets body chemistry in subtle ways and can do more damage than good.

Rather than give anti-oxidant nutrients, a nutritional balancing program will actually remove the mineral forms such as oxides that cause oxidant damage.  This is much better, and more permanent, as well.  To read more about this topic, please read The Amigos – Iron, Manganese, Aluminum And Others.

CORRECTING POOR ELIMINATOR AND VERY POOR ELIMINATOR PATTERNS

As a person follows a properly designed nutritional balancing program, the poor eliminator indicators tend to go away on their own.  However, ways to enhance the process include:

1. More rest and relaxation greatly assists toxin elimination.

2. The oxidation diets with 6 to 9 cups of cooked vegetables for adults are very helpful.

3. Eating fruit or other sweets is very bad.

4. Eating meat or other animal protein more than twice daily is not good.

5. The nutritional balancing supplement programs are essential.  Be sure to add TMG to the program.

6. Be sure to use a near infrared LAMP SAUNA once or twice daily, and not other types of saunas.

7. Daily coffee enemas (one to four daily) are also very helpful.  The saunas and the enemas must be continued for several years, at least.

8. Improving one’s attitudes and emotional control are very helpful.  The best way to do this, other than improved nutrition, is with the Roy Masters mental exercise, and not other meditations, prayers or affirmations.

POOR ELIMINATOR PATTERN ON A RETEST ONLY, OR A WORSENING OF THE PATTERN ON A RETEST

In some cases, poor eliminator patterns are worse on a retest hair analysis.  In fact, they may only appear on a retest.  This is usually not a cause for concern, providing the person is faithfully following their nutritional balancing program.  Possible causes for poor eliminator patterns to appear only on a retest, or to become worse on a retest, include:

1. Armoring.  When poor eliminators increase in number or in severity on a retest, it is often “armoring”.  In this situation, the person retains some toxic metals to stay in balance and perhaps to retrace a difficult situation from the past.  Therefore, the elimination of some or all the toxic metals declines, causing the more severe poor eliminator patterns.

When an armoring pattern shows up, it can mean the person needs to take more TMG or trimthylglycine.  This is a consistent research finding.  It may have to do with the role of methyl groups in liver detoxification.  Rarely, one of our clients needs up to 5 grams of TMG daily, for a while.  However, most of the time adults do not need more than 3 grams daily.

2. Other possible reasons for more or worsening of the poor eliminator patters on a retest may include:

a) a great slowing of the oxidation rate.

b) a more extreme sympathetic dominance pattern for some reason.

c) a healing reaction in progress, such as clearing an old infection, that impairs mineral elimination.

d) the presence of another mineral patterns that may impair toxic metal elimination such as a bowl pattern, a very low sodium/potassium ratio, or something else.

WEIGHT GAIN DUE TO POOR ELIMINATOR PATTERN

Rarely, a client gains weight on a nutritional balancing program for a time.  One reason can be the appearance of a poor eliminator pattern.  The reason for the weight gain may be water retention as the body attempts to dilute certain toxic substances to reduce their harmful effects.

A related cause is a problem in the kidneys, perhaps, that are not able to handle the toxins that need to be eliminated.  Usually, this is temporary and will pass when the poor eliminator patterns pass.

POOR ELIMINATOR PATTERN AND TOXIC CHEMICALS

A person with poor eliminator pattern may also be having difficulty removing toxic chemicals from the body, since some of the elimination pathways in the liver and kidney are the same or related to those used to eliminate toxic metals.

This is important!  Just as it is difficult to identify hidden toxic minerals, it is even more difficult to identify hidden toxic chemicals in the body.  In this way, poor eliminator patterns can tell us about a person’s ability to eliminate toxic chemicals as well as toxic minerals.

CONCLUSION - THE VALUE OF THIS VITAL MINERAL PATTERN

Identifying poor eliminator patterns is exceedingly important for the following reasons:

1. An amazing hidden toxicity indicator.  Identifying this pattern helps us avoid a common mistake of thinking that because toxic metal levels are very low, a person is less toxic.  This is not necessarily true.

2. Health is worse than it appears.  Poor eliminator patterns can alert the practitioner that liver toxicity or kidney toxicity, for example, are worse than one thinks, based on other readings on the hair mineral chart or other tests.

3. An adrenal burnout indicator.  This has been discussed above.  Basically, we find that every three poor eliminator patterns indicates one adrenal burnout indicator.  Each two VERY poor eliminator patterns equals one additional burnout indicator.

4. An important sympathetic dominance indicator.  This is discussed above.  Every four poor eliminator indicators equals one sympathetic dominance indicator.  In addition, every four VERY poor eliminator patterns indicates one additional sympathetic dominance indicator.

5. Possibly an indicator that progress with healing will be somewhat slower.  Progress toward real health and healing is often slower on a nutritional balancing program when more poor eliminator patterns are present.

6. A need for doing the nutritional balancing procedures.  These procedures currently include daily red heat lamp sauna therapy, foot and perhaps hand reflexology, daily coffee enemas, the daily spinal twist, and the Roy Masters meditation daily (and not other meditative exercises).

Doing these every day is even more critical when poor eliminator patterns are present in order to help remove toxic metals and toxic chemicals from the body much faster.

7. Possibly a toxic chemical indicator.  This is another important tipoff.

8. Possibly a reason for weight gain.

9. An indicator of the presence of “the amigos”.

Please note that there is only one nutritional balancing science, developed by Dr. Paul Eck. All other claims made by other practitioners, not approved by Dr. Lawrence Wilson on his site, have altered Dr. Eck's principles and as such have no in depth understanding of the science, which is very unfortunate.

Further, altering even one aspect of a nutritional balancing program often ruins it rather completely.  This could be substituting different products that you like better, skipping an aspect of the diet or the supplements, or implementing other diets, such as GAPS OR PALEO, OR something else that people do all the time, such for example using other forms of meditation, other than what is recommended by Dr. Wilson.  In other words, using other products or diets, or meditation, conflicts with the entire program and it seriously reduces its effectiveness. Thus, nutritional balancing science is completely integrated, meaning that the sciences are used together in very unique way and should not be altered by yourself or other practitioners.
